Copilot
Copilot is TraceLog's AI-powered analytics assistant. Instead of building custom reports or writing queries, ask questions in plain English and get data-driven answers instantly.
How to Use
Copilot is always one click away. You can open it from three places:
- "Ask TraceLog" button in the top bar — works from any page in the dashboard.
- Keyboard shortcut
Cmd + K(Mac) orCtrl + K(Windows/Linux) — anywhere outside input fields. - Contextual buttons on specific pages (issue detail, funnel detail, report detail, tracking, analytics, etc.) — these pre-load context about what you're looking at so starter questions and answers are already focused.
Type a question in plain English and press Enter. Copilot queries your real data and streams the answer back with citations.
Dedicated Copilot page
Open /copilot from the main navigation for a full-screen experience with conversation history in a sidebar. Useful when you want to revisit past conversations or have longer back-and-forths.
What makes Copilot different
- Every number is verified. Before sending the first token, Copilot validates numeric claims against your actual metrics. If a value can't be verified, Copilot adds a low-confidence warning so you don't act on a guess.
- Context-aware starter questions. Each page shows 4 starter questions tailored to what you're looking at — e.g., a funnel detail page suggests "Which step loses the most users?" instead of a generic "summarize my traffic."
- Conversation memory. Ask a follow-up without repeating yourself. Copilot remembers what you were just asking about.
- Feedback in one click. Thumbs up rates an answer instantly. Thumbs down opens a quick "what went wrong" picker with three categories so we can improve the model.
Example questions by page
- Home: "What should I prioritize today?" · "Which item in my queue has the biggest revenue impact?"
- Issue detail: "Explain the root cause" · "What's the impact on revenue?" · "How can I fix this?"
- Funnel detail: "Which step loses the most users?" · "How do I reduce drop-off?"
- Tracking Health: "What's wrong with my tracking?" · "How do I reach a healthy score?"
- Analytics (traffic / conversions / performance / audience): "What stands out this week?" · "Where did we lose conversions?"
- Reports: "Which report best explains last week?" · "What changed vs last period?"
What's verified vs inferred
Copilot verifies numeric claims against your metrics in real time — sessions, conversions, revenue, rates. These are the numbers you can trust.
Causal reasoning ("mobile conversion dropped because of a checkout error") is AI-generated analysis based on the data patterns Copilot can see. Treat these as strong hypotheses worth investigating, not established facts.
Low-confidence answers show a warning badge so you know when Copilot isn't fully sure.
Limits
| Plan | AI queries/month |
|---|---|
| FREE | 10 |
| GROWTH | 50 |
| PRO | 200 |
| BUSINESS | 500 |
| ENTERPRISE | Unlimited |
When you have 3 or fewer queries left in the month, a small banner appears to nudge an upgrade. Hitting zero pauses sends until the next reset date.
Copilot also requires at least one session of real tracking data. New projects without any events see a locked state with a link to install tracking. Once data arrives, Copilot unlocks automatically.
Semantic search (PRO+)
PRO, Business, and Enterprise plans unlock semantic search across behavior patterns, similar issues, and page context — used silently by Copilot to find related signals when relevant.
